Why did you start a Jewish divorce service?
Pastoral Care training in NYC hospitals and the Navy taught me the
value of listening to people suffering from illness and the importance
of showing-up for people navigating life’s challenges and transitions. Guiding couples through the Jewish Divorce process with an emphasis on Dignity, Discretion, and Respect can help reduce the pressure/worry of obtaining a GET.
What are your qualifications?
30 years in the rabbinate
Career split between congregations (Westport CT; Austin TX) and organizational world (United Synagogue; Israel Bonds)
Training/Certification by the Bet Din of The Rabbinical Assembly of America
Certified Divorce and Family Mediator
What is your background?
Born/raised in Detroit and earned degrees from Michigan State University and The Ohio State University. Ordained by - and recently awarded a Doctor of Divinity Degree (honorary) - from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
